This Perth International Comedy Festival has been organised and publicised so much better than the WWCF we’ve had the last few years. Hopefully it will continue to grow and get better.

I think PICF have pulled better and more international guests than WWCF did in three or so years in operation.

Perhaps I’m getting my hopes up though.

Comedy happies! :D

I now have tickets to John Robertson, Sammy J & Randy, Joel Creasey, and Super Dub.

They’re all in the one week.

I think I shall become very familiar with the Astor during that time.

They’re probably the last time I’ll be at the Astor underage. Exciting times! Comedy shall be much cheaper when I can go to a show without worrying about the cost of Mum’s ticket too. She’ll still come with me to a fair few things, but it’ll be nice to know I don’t have to buy a second ticket to somewhere that’s 18+!

Adding to my excitement is that 3/4 are in the Astor Lounge which is a small movie theatre upstairs with 100 seats. It’s so intimate and gorgeous. There’s not even any stage, just the gap between chairs and the movie screen. Perfect.

I like the main theatre less due to it being so flat but we’ve got 3rd row tickets to Sammy J & Randy so it’s not a problem.

Also, I’m finally giving Amy her birthday present this week. We’re going to see Ross Noble at the Regal Theatre this Wednesday. My present was very prompt considering her birthday was in November last year.

While I’m talking about great comedy

I’m so excited for Woodley to start in the next few weeks. Feb 22nd to be exact! I swear we’ve had the lead up to this for a couple of years and it’s finally hear. Wonderful.

I’m also currently trying to decide whether I should see John Robertson, DeAnne Smith, or Sammy J at the PICF. I have enough left in my account to take me and Mum to one of the shows. Possibly the last one before I’m 18.

I’m looking at cutting DeAnne from the shortlist. I’ve not seen much of her stuff so I’m not entirely sure that I like her stuff and for $60 I’d want to know that I actually like the act.

I’m leaning towards Sammy J, or John Robertson.

I already have Superdub Vs. The Aliens tickets which has John Robertson but it’s not his proper show. I didn’t get to see Sammy last time he was here and I’ve seen John lots. But John is a great performer that deserves 5 times the audience he actually gets.

Ugh. I need a job. And to be 18 so whenever I want to go to a show 2 tickets don’t have to be purchased. $30? Sure, no problem. $60? Let’s put some thought into this.

If you’ve ever seen a more #firstworlproblem than this I will be shocked.

I just realised that John Robertson’s girlfriend is the new PICF director.

Discoveries that actually interest me.
